Sorting icy conditions at Penstock Tunnel ❄️🧊

We’ve heard from a number of parents over the past few days about how dangerous the Penstock Tunnel has been in the icy weather — with some describing it as “like an ice rink”, especially during the school run. 🥶
With temperatures dropping overnight, Adam was out at 6am this morning to grit the tunnel and make sure it was safe for families and children heading to school. 🧂

This shouldn’t be missed — so we’ve also made sure the tunnel is now added to the council’s regular gritting schedule going forward. ✅
We’ve also had residents on Nelson Road and Inderwick Road get in touch about the lack of nearby grit bins.
In response, new grit bins have now been installed around the junctions with Tottenham Lane. 🧂📍
If there are other locations you think need a grit bin, please do get in touch — we’re always happy to raise it and get it sorted. 💬
Thanks to everyone who flagged this!
