Real progress on rough sleeping in Haringey 🏡💚

After years of sustained work, investment, and partnership working across the borough, we’re really pleased to share that rough sleeping in Haringey has fallen significantly. 🙌
The latest street count shows 26 people sleeping rough, down from 48 just two years ago. That’s a 46% reduction — and one of the biggest drops in London. 📉
We know this is something many residents care deeply about. Time and again, people have told us they want to see real action to support those sleeping on our streets, and that’s exactly what’s been happening. 💬
Over the past few years, Haringey has:
👉 Opened the Osborne Grove Assessment Centre to get people off the streets quickly 🏠
👉 Expanded outreach work with partners across the borough 🤝
👉 Created safer, dedicated spaces for women 👩🦰
👉 Developed new pathways into longer-term accommodation 🔑
This is making a real difference — helping people move off the streets and into support faster. 💪
But we’re not complacent.
Behind every number is a person — and too many people are still ending up without a safe place to stay. That’s why we’re continuing to push for stronger prevention, earlier intervention, and proper support for those at risk of homelessness. ⚠️
A huge thank you to outreach teams, council staff, charities and local organisations doing this work day in, day out — often in very challenging circumstances. 👏💛
And thank you to residents who continue to raise concerns, share information, and look out for one another. That community spirit matters. 🫶
There’s more to do — but this is real progress. And we’re determined to keep going.
