Over the past few weeks, we’ve been out on a series of estate inspections with council officers and local residents, visiting a number of blocks across the ward — including Chasewater, Elgar, Tennyson, Moore, Audley and Harvey. These walkabouts are an important way for us to see issues first-hand and make sure nothing gets missed.

Together, we picked up a wide range of repairs and maintenance concerns, including:

  • šŸ”§ fixing broken lights and communal fixtures

  • 🧹 improved cleaning and caretaking needs

  • šŸŒ§ļø drainage and guttering issues

  • šŸšļø cracked pathways and uneven paving

  • 🚪 repairs to doors, bin stores and communal entrances

Officers will now be drafting full reports for each block, and we’ll be working through the list one by one to make sure the issues are tackled and our estates are brought up to the standard residents deserve. Thank you to everyone who joined us on the inspections — your insight is invaluable.

šŸ—‘ļøšŸš« Fly-Tipping: What We’re Seeing & What We’re Doing

We’ve also had a spike in fly-tipping reports across the ward, and we’ve been working closely with the council to get sites cleared as quickly as possible.

One of the more challenging hotspots is Farrer Mews, where tipping is happening on private land — which unfortunately means the council can’t always remove waste immediately. We’re pushing for the landowner to take responsibility and exploring enforcement options to stop this recurring.

Elsewhere in the ward, we’ve been able to get several problem sites cleared promptly — including the locations shown in the photos below. šŸ“øāœØ

We know how frustrating fly-tipping is for residents, and we’ll keep working with officers to improve response times, strengthen enforcement, and hold repeat offenders to account.

If you see fly-tipping, please do report it — the more detail we have, the quicker we can act. You can also use LoveCleanStreets - a handy app to make reports that need addressing.
