We wanted to share two important updates on council housing in Haringey — one about home surveys starting this autumn, and another on the Resident Advisory Panel’s review of the repairs service.
📝 Council Home Surveys Starting Soon
From September, Haringey Council will begin a stock condition survey programme across 4,800 homes, running until the end of 2026.
These surveys are really important – they help us:
Plan future repairs 🔧
Assess energy efficiency 🌱
Ensure homes meet the Decent Homes Standard 🏡
The specialist firm Baily Garner has been appointed to carry out the surveys in phases.

👉 If your home is included in this phase, you’ll get advance notice with details on how to book.
Surveys usually take 20–40 minutes.
All surveyors will carry photo ID – please check their identification before allowing entry.
🔍 Resident Advisory Panel – Repairs Review
The Resident Advisory Panel (RAP) has recently completed a review of the housing repairs service, based on feedback from tenants, leaseholders, and staff.
The review highlighted some key challenges, including:
The need for a simpler, clearer process for reporting repairs and understanding timelines.
Staff needing better tools for diagnosis and communication.
But these challenges also bring opportunities ✅.
Key recommendations include:
Dedicated repair teams for clearer accountability 👷
Improved customer service training 💬
Streamlined internal workflows for efficiency ⚡
The Council is now reviewing these proposals, with planning for implementation set to begin in autumn.
🙏 A huge thank you to all residents who contributed — your feedback has been central to shaping these recommendations.
